Information we collect
If you contact us with a sales query about our products then your name (if you've supplied it) and email address may go into our own marketing database (unless you asked us not to do this when you contacted us). We use our marketing database to keep customers up to date with stuff we think might be of interest to them - new products, customer surveys, special offers and other news, so we might email you about this kind of thing from time to time. If at any point you want us to stop sending you these emails, just reply to one of them with the word 'STOP' in the subject line.
If you contact us with a non-sales query - for example asking us about a photo on our website - then in line with UK information protection laws we will not retain your contact details.
We do not share the information in our marketing database with anyone else, so your personal details will never be passed on to any third party unless we are required to do so by law. We take all appropriate steps to keep the personal information we hold safe and secure.
We will keep some or all of these details in our marketing database, and use them as described above. We do not store telephone numbers whether or not we receive details of them through PayPal or another source. We never get to see or store your payment card details as all payments are handled though PayPal.
Links to third-party websites
Our website contains a few links to other third-party websites, as well as to the PayPal website for the operation of the shopping cart function and online payments. If you follow these links you will be leaving our website (which will remain open in its own tab or window) and you should be aware that we do not exercise any control over the privacy policies operated by other third-party websites.
What you can do to control our use of your personal information
If you decide to interact with Grass Roots Cycling through our website, either by contacting us with a sales query or by making a purchase, then there are several steps you can take to control the storage and use of your personal information:
If you want details of the personal information we hold about you, you have a right to request this under the Data Protection Act 1998. Please contact us with your request. We may charge a small admin fee to supply it.
If you think any of the details we might be holding about you are wrong then please let us know. We will put things right as soon as we can.
The bottom line is, we want you to be happy with how we treat you. If you're not happy, you're not likely to buy anything from us or to recommend us to your friends.
